The MLHS / SHVM proudly presents the 4th Annual Fall Gathering – September 11-13, 2009
The Manitoba Living History Society / Societe pour l”histoire vivante du Manitoba invites you to the 4th Annual Fall Gathering of the People of Red River. Come and see life as it was in 1815! Learn some of Manitoba’s rich heritage and have fun while doing it. This family event takes place September 11-13 at Fort Gibraltar, located in Whittier Park in St. Boniface. Admission to the public is FREE with plenty of free parking.
Re-enactors in historically accurate costume will act as guides and interpreters for events and demonstrations such as:
- Open fire cooking and an authentic early 1800′s period camp
- A musket reliability competition with military drills and the firing of historical muskets
- Demonstration of a military skirmish featuring members of La Compagnie de La Vérendrye
- Historic crafts, games and activities for children
- Assorted workshops and demonstrations
- Bilingual interpretations of events and tours of Fort Gibraltar
- and more
