November was a quiet month for some of us. Maybe the calm before the storm in my case. I managed to finish my 1860s dress on time for a wonderful event in Selkirk. There's a few tweeks to fix but nothing major to do.Which means for the most part I'm done with mine and off to make the boys outfits.
Here I thought my december was going to be calm. I spoke too soon. I was going to work slowly on the boys outfits and christmas presents and not leave this till the last minute. As a Society we tend to do things together but other times we do events and what not on our own. Last week a friend of mine from the church I attend asked me if I could help give some directions with the costumes of the play they are doing. They of course are doing Dickens ``A Christmas Carol``. You see where i'm going with this right? I apperently have enough outfits to dress a good part of the cast, as it touches a couple time periods. What I don't have is being provided by the cast or are being made by our costume comity. so there goes half of December right there.
There is a silver lining to this, I need about 3 more waistcoats so I will be making those in the 1860s style which means I'll still be on track for the boys outfits which i'm happy about.
I'm really excited about next year. Get your hoops ready it'll be a good one.
